ATLANTA – Don’t fret, you can get a taste of the popular FLIP Burger Boutique for under $20.  Recently, the popular burger boutique in Buckhead gave us a tour of their menu and showed us how to maximize our dollar while taking advantage of their offerings.

The restaurant emerged on the Atlanta food scene, a couple of years ago and has been getting rave reviews every since. FLIP’s Executive Chef Richard Blais has created a name for himself in the foodie world as an innovative chef who makes breaking the rules work. The restaurant places an emphasis on local produce and protein and likes to blend sweet and savory ingredients together to create a flavor "explosion" for every guest, during every meal.

Chef Ortiz oversees the kitchen at FLIP and discussed with the Where U Live team; many of the meal combinations that can be enjoyed at the restaurant for under $20. The restaurant offers a $10 prix fixe lunch from 11:00 until 2:30 p.m. The lunch offers a choice of a burger, choice of a side and a fountain drink.

Every Tuesday, the Where U Live team chooses a Metro Atlanta restaurant and with the restaurant's help, shows you how you can sample the menu without spending too much.

The first combination Chef Ortiz suggested was the Classic Beef Burger which is crafted with a 5.5 oz FLIP patty, bib lettuce, onions tomato, ketchup and bread and butter pickles. The burger is served with FLIP’s take on onion rings, the Vodka Battered Onion, which are served with beer mustard. FLIP makes the bread and butter pickles, in house, along with the FLIP patties which are made with hanger steak, brisket and beef short ribs. He suggests their Sprite spiked with Blue Curacao to finish off the combo.

The second combination Ortiz suggests is the Veggie Burger, which is a homemade black bean, hominy and rice patty, topped with avocado, bib lettuce, grilled onions and pico de gallo. The burger is served alongside sweet potato tots with chocolate salt and marshmallow foam.  All of the sandwiches are served on a Guyanese brioche bun.

The final combination would be the Turkey Burger which is topped with Monterey Cheese, fresh avocado, homemade pomegranate ketchup, tomato and alfalfa sprouts. The turkey burger patties are handcrafted with organic turkey from North Georgia. Ortiz suggests serving the restaurants hand cut fries accompanied with smoked mayo along with the burger.

He also suggested the Krispy Kreme, Nutella or Captain Crunch milkshakes. The milkshakes are crafted with liquid nitrogen and vanilla ice cream. The Krispy Kreme milkshake is actually ice cream, nitrogen and real bits of Krispy Kreme doughnuts; peopleofter refer to the milkshake as a liquid doughnut. The Nutella shake is basically Nutella and ice cream and it’s garnished with burnt marshmallows. And the Captain Crunch milkshake, is a shake garnished with bits of Captain Crunch cereal and peanut butter foam. Each shake costs around $5.
